The LBGTIQ community is well-represented across all levels of our organization, including among the owners.

Moreover, we have established successful third-party relationships that have led to remarkable recruitment wins, such as the recent hiring of a young man through Workforce Australia's BUSY Ability Program. This initiative supports ex-offenders in their transition back to the workforce,

and we have been able to provide support to this individual by helping him obtain his RSA, offering on-the-job training, and mentoring him. We are delighted to see his hard work recognised with a recent promotion to a front-of-house Supervisor role.

In collaboration with the Federal Government's New England Recovery Fund, we have welcomed a talented woman into our team as she returns to work after experiencing hearing loss due to an accident. Despite her lack of prior experience in the hospitality industry, she now excels in an administrative role and effectively communicates using email and our dedicated staff app. We have also arranged for a sign language translator to assist whenever necessary.

In partnership with Australian Training Plus (ATP), we have successfully transitioned several longterm unemployed individuals, including mature-aged workers, into ongoing employment opportunities. By assisting job seekers in obtaining relevant qualifications such as RSA and providing on-the-job training, we aim to offer opportunities for personal and professional growth to those willing to excel in our industry.

Our commitment to supporting all members of our team is further demonstrated through our inclusive in-house training programs. Our Operational Training Managers work closely with individuals to identify any barriers, such as language or literacy issues, that may hinder career advancement. Solutions, including a buddy system, are then implemented to ensure that everyone has the support they need to succeed.

Additionally, we actively participate in local career days and have established strong relationships with career advisors and Training NSW to nurture the future leadership talent in our industry.

Lastly, I would like to emphasize our zero-tolerance policy towards workplace bullying, whether from colleagues or customers. We are dedicated to maintaining a safe and respectful work environment for all team members.

Community & business

Our strong organisational values, coupled with comprehensive access to Group policies and procedures, ensure a solid foundation for growth within the company. The robust induction process and open dialogue with management encourage all staff members to engage with our Operational Training Managers to discuss their career aspirations.

Given the recent growth of our Group, there's an abundance of opportunities for each one of us to expand our skills, work across different venues, or progress into leadership roles. We are proud to commit 3% of our revenue to training, enabling the creation of personalised development plans that can be tracked during performance reviews.

The CEO and senior leadership team prioritise being actively present in all our venues, fostering a culture of open communication and idea exchange to drive innovation and productivity. Recently, a suggestion from a housemaid led to the integration of maintenance requests via the app, streamlining the process for everyone involved.

As part of the service industry, we encourage staff to go above and beyond to surprise and delight our returning customers by using insights gathered from our point-of-sale system, which also functions as a CRM tool.

Furthermore, each venue has the autonomy to select charitable initiatives that resonate with their team values. Staff members have visibility over these philanthropic activities and are even reimbursed for time spent donating blood or plasma locally.

Performance incentives, such as end-of-year bonuses tied to sales targets, are set for leadership roles. All staff benefit from discounts at all Central Hospitality Group venues and through the Choice Hotels Employee Discount Program.

Lastly, our annual company celebration is a memorable occasion where team members can nominate their peers for awards, recognising their contributions and making them feel appreciated within our community.
